Can't Sleep and definitely Can't Think!

I am sitting awake, but my mind is racing and I can't get it to slow down. One more day of school for the week, one more day of class, have to finish shopping, grocery shop, bake, five more days next week, and still have to pack. But to be honest, I LOVE IT! And only during the holiday season do I find myself saying this crazy statement of loving the stressful chaos. I love going to the stores at this time when it's filled with people (some not so nice) and the decorations...just the spirit of the holidays is what I love. I have always felt this way during this time of year, but I find myself bursting since Alan has been born. Not only do I get all giddy and excited, but to watch the holidays through the eyes of a child is beyond words. I wish these times I could pack up and put into a little snow globe to shake, and why a snow globe...because there is something magical about shaking up the glitter and it falling over the photo inside, and that's how I what the holidays are to me: MAGIC!

Santa at VME: Alan was so excited on the way there and couldn't wait to tell Santa he wanted a bike for Christmas, and once we got there it was a different story.

and so it begins!

Santa's letter is in the mail, lists are almost complete, projects are being made almost daily, cards completed, Elf on a Shelf comes to visit Friday, decorations ready to be set up this weekend...I can't freaking wait! Black Friday here I come, and so the 2009 holiday season officially begins. And I can't wait now that Alan is truly getting into Christmas. Every aisle in stores with lights and decorations I watch as he is amazed and can only manage to get out....WOW!
First cup of "hot" chocolate. Yum!

October...Came and Went Before Our Eyes!

Before I knew it October was over and we are well on our way to Thanksgiving. Here are some pictures capturing our fun filled October, minus birthday party pics which seem to be on the other camera card that is (missing) packed. Dear God, Please help me find the camera card, cannot go through another loss of photos.

This is our new pouty face...very hard to resist!
Helping Papa put up new screening on our lanai. I think he likes all of the room in our new house.

If You Wait Long Enough, Dreams Do Come True!

Dear Alan,
Tonight there will be only words, words that I have been longing to get out for almost a month and tonight seems like the perfect night to pour my heart out. It seems as our lives have been a whirlwind lately and I have not been there as though I want to be, but I struggle to realize and do know that it's temporary and in a way good for you to start becoming independent, learning to play and imagine and develop into your own little being. It seems like your birthday came and went with Gibby and Gampa here visiting and then with moving it's been crazy. And you know what, you have been a trooper. I still don't think you completely understand that this is our new home, our place that we will begin making more memories, our home that your daddy and I have dreamed of having for you. And for us it seemed like it would never happen. All we kept saying was that we wanted to get into a house for you to run and run and run and play and be free. It's here!
So as the three of us lay on our couch, in our new living room, with the wind blowing through the lanai and windows and you dreaming away...I realize that this is what I have ever wanted in life.
We will get the boxes unpacked, (and my little peanut you have been such a great helper) I will pull out the scrapbook, I will get pictures posted, I will do laundry/dishes, I will___________, but for now I am enjoying the moment, the moment of realizing that right now I feel complete.
I love you Alan James! Good Night, Sleep Tight and Thank You for making Mommy and Daddy's dreams come true!
